The Revolutionary MLK

This coming Monday, January 16th, is Martin Luther King Jr. Day in the so-called United States. The Dr. King that you probably learned about in school though barely resembles the person that Dr. King was by the time the white power state put a bullet in him. Like Malcolm X, towards the end of his like Dr. King was moving towards an understanding of the need for a revolutionary transformation in society. He stood against the imperialist war against Viet Nam. This the Dr. King you probably don’t know. In fact, the caricature of Dr. King we are presented with today is used today to support policies that he fought against.
