Settlerism Seen Through the Analogy of Home Ownership

Regular Speed of Dreams commenter Chuck Lucy Finale made this analogy today on Facebook about the ideology and history of settlerism (as seen in North America, Australia, New Zealand and Israel), using the example of owning a home:

A couple breaks into your house and promptly kills your parents. They lock you in your bedroom and have kids themselves. Then they die of old age, their kids are just in keeping the house and locking you in your bedroom becaseu 1 – it would be inconvenient for them to move and 2 – there isn’t enough of the original owners to own a house properly and 3 – the original home owners are “lazy”.

Think about it!
